good reads: room

Just finished this book last night. Amazing. The plot itself is pretty disturbing. But the way that the story is told, through the eyes of a 5 year old, seems to make everything feel okay. Erin, thanks for the recommendation. And it has received my recommendation too!

Now, I need a new book. Reading anything great lately?

A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN – Betty Smith – Amazing.
LITTLE BEE – CHRIS CLEAVE – I read this in 2 days. Has a disturbing part, but might be one of my favorite books ever.

I’m reading the Agony and the Ecstasy by Irving Stone. It takes place in Florence, Italy and is about the life of Michelangelo. You would love it.

Ah, read this earlier in the year – such a phenomenal book! Have you read any Jeannette Walls? The Glass Castle is her first novel and INCREDIBLE. She wrote a prequel to it called Half Broke Horses, also fantastic. I highly recommend picking up both, but read them in order of publishing date – the stories blew my mind.

Just discovered your blog – what lovely work!

    xx,
    Maiah
