Curren’s First Birthday Party – Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Happy First Birthday Curren Boy! You are our star baby… the happiest little burst of light in our lives. We just love you to pieces! Having you and your brother Ezra together has made this past year the best of our lives so far. You are a true joy, so celebrating YOU and putting my heart into something, even at the very last minute, just felt right…

So… it happened. I said it would… I said I couldn’t. I love planning little parties so much… I geek out over all of the details, paper products, decor… I love it all. Too much. But lately I have been feeling overwhelmed and a bit stressed, so I said no thanks to a big party. But last minute, I found a chunk of free time and decided to go for it! It was pretty quaint, just a few friends over for some pancakes, snacks, and although this teeny tiny cake wasn’t made for everyone to share, I think every one of the kids got a bite while Curren was testing the cake touching waters. HAHA (It’s in the story highlight if you want to see the cake feeding frenzy that happened with like 8 kids under 5.) HA!

I opted for breakfast for dinner (SUPER EASY) and a pajama party because (I DIDN’T WANT TO GET DRESSED). HAHA!!! Best party theme ever. We had all of Curren’s favorite snacks, cheerios, raspberries, blueberries, cheddar bunnies, watermelon, yogurt and applesauce. VERY kid friendly party… not sure how the parents felt about the food situation, but the kids were ecstatic!

The kids played to their hearts content, the plan was to have a movie night in our PJ’s, but the kids were having so much fun playing together we decided to just let it go.

I know Curren would have been happy with any kind of party, but Ezra kept asking about his birthday party and there was just this little piece of me that REALLY wanted to do it. Glad we did. It was so fun, Curren had the time of his life! (seriously… all those bigger kids, he played with them the whole evening without a peep. So cute to see him being so independent!)
