Let’s make one thing clear: not all vitamins are created equal. I will be the first to admit that I have never been great at taking a multi-vitamin. Or putting myself first.. or doing most things that are good for one’s body since becoming a Mom. ???? Yes, that is a very cliche thing to say, and I wish I weren’t the cliche. Mom has baby, Mom can’t find time to work out, Mom eats horribly and is always tired. I know so many that aren’t the cliche. Amazing women that seem to have it together. But there I was, a 30 year old Mom who’s diet consisted mostly of sandwich crusts and leftover veggies for lunch. Not super proud.
I wasn’t always this way. There was a time when I planned meals, worked out on the daily, and yeah, maybe I even took a generic multi-vitamin from the grocer. Somewhere along the way it all just kind of came apart at the seams.
ANYWAY, you get the picture. I decided to make a change recently. And this small change has lead to other small changes. And maybe one day, just MAYBE, these small changes will lead bigger, healthier lifestyle changes… if all goes according to plan.
About 6 weeks ago, I started taking Ritual’s Essential for Women multivitamins. I knew I wasn’t getting what I needed from my daily diet (some days were better than others ????), and I knew I needed a change. Taking a multivitamin was one thing I knew I could conquer quickly, easily, and it would make me feel a little better about myself daily. I found one small thing to do for myself and my health every single morning that I knew I could stick to. And guess what… I have! WOO! ????
So.. here is where the change really started happening. It was almost like magic. I started taking the vitamins, 2 every morning, and it made me CONSCIOUS about what I was putting in my body. Plus, Ritual is gluten and allergen free, non-GMO, contains no colorants or synthetic fillers, and tastes like peppermint, so it was an easy choice for me.
It also put that thought into my brain every morning, “Your body is also important.” One good decision for your health will lead to other good decisions.
Now, I am not saying I have joined a Core Power Yoga class or anything… but I have seen that my eating habits are better and I have been more active because starting every morning, I am making a positive conscious decision for my health. ????????
So, if you aren’t sure that this vitamin brand is for you, let me give you a few reasons why it is:
Ritual (created by a Mom who was fed up with the unnecessary ingredients found in most of the vitamins in her cabinet), is on a mission to create a simple, complete multivitamin using what we need and commonly lack in our daily food intakes. What’s in the vitamin? 9 simple nutrients:
Vitamin K2, Vitamin D3, Vitamin B12, Boron, Iron, Vitamin E, Magnesium, Folate and Omega-3. That’s it.
If you are a vitamin aficionado, (which I was not, but have delved deep into the vitamin world because now, I actually care) you may notice that Vitamins C and Calcium, ingredients found in many multivitamins, are not included. Turns out there’s actually a good chance you are already getting enough of these from your diet. Ritual combines calcium-helper nutrients to utilize calcium from the food you eat! “People might think it’s shocking that we’ve left those out, but we have really good reasons,” says Kat, the founder of Ritual.
It makes sense… and it seems like from the nutrients, to where and how they’re sourced, to how it is packaged with a mint-essenced tab in every bottle, to the branding and design… it is all made thoughtfully and with purpose. Something I know we are all expecting of products we are trusting and supporting these days.
What are some things you are doing for your health?
“Success is the sum of small efforts – repeated day in and day out.” – Robert Collier
And who knows, maybe someday soon I’ll have that Core Power Yoga pass. ????
Couldn’t relate more to this! We have over a year’s worth of vitamins that are stocked up because I never take them! Mom life at it’s finest. These sound cool though! Maybe I’ll trade the ones I never take for these 🙂
