So it FINALLY FINALLY happened. After being broken hearted 5-6 times, “the one” finally came along. At times we felt we were going through a bad breakup, we thought it was love, “why didn’t anyone want us!?” We even wrote notes to sellers BEGGING to pick us. I felt like a desperate girlfriend begging to be taken back. Depressing, I know. After much defeat, true love came along and swept us off our feet. It’s a little tiny bungalow amongst raspberry bushes and tall, tall trees. It’s got a huge deck and tons of lawn to run around on. A little swing hanging from a branch and a dilapidated play house that needs a little TLC. It has 3 raised garden beds and 3 egg laying chickens. We have lots of plans for this little home, it needs some work… but we are willing to put in the effort to make it ours.
We were put through the ringer in this house hunt, but in hindsight, I am SO glad we didn’t get any of the houses we had put offers on. I believe in fate. This little house was meant for us.
This weekend we’re pulling up carpet, prepping for hardwood floors and fixing some windows. We are NOT handy people. Wish us luck.P.S. On a side note: Ezra started CRAWLING this week!!! So exciting! He’s really on the go, wants to play with and touch everything! Crazy how time flies.
P.S.S. How do you guys feel about WHITE hardwood? Do any of you have really light hardwood in your home? This is what I’m leaning toward… a little hesitant.
Congrats!!! This is so great and I am so happy for you and your rustic bungalow. I know it will be amazing once you give it your magic touch!! And yayyy for ezra!!
that second pic is so rad. Haven’t seen that one…..glad you posted this. ¿Is that a cat under the deck??
Ps. Fresh eggs in the morning!? Magical!
So cute, lauren. Happy for you! !!!!! We want to see it in 2 weeks!!!!
What a happy story! I have been going through the same process with my clients as a Realtor in this real estate market. Writing heartfelt letters on what they felt was the perfect house, only to lose out on one after another due to such a competitive market here in Colorado right now. It’s funny how fate sometimes allows us rejections in order to get to the right home. I Know what it’s like to make a move with the baby. Not easy. Hope you feel settled in soon!

Thank you for your sweet words!

I love happy stories like this! It’s one of the great joys I have working as a Realtor in Colorado, to see a family find the perfect home for them, even after many rejections in such a competitive real estate market right now. What a happy ending!
