Something incredible happens when you bring creatives together who truly love what they do. It becomes a playground of ideas and acceptance, everyone cheering eachother on… that’s when the magic happens.

We asked our crew to arrive at 7 a.m. sharp at D Street Beach in Encinitas. I wanted to make sure our lighting was just perfect. 7 a.m. on a Saturday morning. That’s how you know these people are dedicated, (and really good friends), to put up with that call time.

I had butterflies that morning, and the whole week before if I’m being honest. Not the
nervous butterflies… but the ones that come out of pure excitement.

The morning was brisk, but the sun was warm on our skin. We unloaded our “surf mobile” that was filled to the brim with pretty Sugarhouse products, loaded up everyone’s arms and headed down the bluff to the beach.

Once everything was set up, I sat back and let the magic happen… The calm of the morning, the waves crashing in the background, I couldn’t help but feel so much relief that “the hard part was over” and excitement that this all is real… that our little business we’ve been dreaming of was really, truly happening.

Kavin filmed and directed with ease as the girls ate breakfast and Brittany was able to capture the most beautiful, real photos. I couldn’t have imagined working with a better team of talent.

You would have never known that most of our crew had just met that morning. After only a few minutes, everyone was laughing and talking like we had known eachother forever. It all flowed so well and just felt right. Aside from a burned hole in Tayler’s shirt from the smoke stick, I’d venture to say it was perfect.
