I recently learned how to download fonts to my computer, (yes, I also think I am a little late to the font downloading club). This new “talent” of mine has has introduced a whole new way of wasting time. No more Arial, Verdana, or Comic Sans for me! NO WAY! I have become slightly obsessed with typography and will some day create my own. But for now, I will download other peoples’ pieces of lettered art, typing my full name over and over in various fonts to see which is the biggest and baddest font of all. Here are a few of my favorite fonts to get you started on your new font hunting journey.Â
HAPPY FUNTING EVERYONE! (font +Â hunting = funting.)
For those of you who are new to this, as I am… Click the link which will take you to a webpage. There will be a large “DOWNLOAD” button somewhere on the page. You can’t miss it. Click “DOWNLOAD”. A window will pop up asking if you would like to open or save. Click save and remember where you saved it. The file will then download to the place you saved it. Go to the file once it is complete. Then right click the file and click “EXTRACT ALL”. THEN, open your control panel under “MY COMPUTER”. Under control panel, there is a folder that has all your fonts in it. Open that folder and drag your new font into the “fonts” folder. It will automatically install and you are able to use it in all applications!
